Internet Casino Sucker Wagers — Part 2

  • Progressive side bets: Games such as Caribbean Stud Poker regularly offer one of these. You generally lay a wager ($1 is the usual amt.) to try to win a side jackpot that could reach twenty-five thousand dollars. Although huge jackpots like these are very appealing, they’re also very complicated to win. You might have to get a Royal Flush in order to hit this bet. Also, think about this- you play twenty hands and make the side wager every time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the real game wager instead of a sucker wager. Just think about what you might have been able to win at a bet with more favorable odds using that twenty dollars.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has 2 zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only one. This takes the complete casino advantage from 2.63% with one zero wheel to a whopping fivepercent in American. The individual number wager has just a 1 in 38 chance of succeeding, which are very long odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red wagers instead which have a much smaller house edge.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and anyway you bet on it, the casino advantage can be a huge 25%. Yes, that isn’t a typo. Due to the huge amount of numbers you must choose, it’s not advisable to play Keno to often. A few times for fun, perhaps. But don’t waste all your money on it or you will quickly find yourself bankrupt.
