Web Casino Sucker Bets — Part II

[ English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano ]
  • Progressive side bets: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker regularly offer one of these. You typically lay a bet (a dollar is the normal value) to attempt to win a bonus jackpot that could reach $25,000. Though big jackpots like this are very appealing, they’re also particularly hard to succeed. You would have to get a Royal Flush in order to hit this bet. Also, picture this- you wager twenty hands and make the side bet every time. That is 20 dollars you should have used towards the real game bet in place of a sucker bet. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a bet with better odds using that $20.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has only one. This shifts the complete house edge from 2.63% with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5.26percent in American. The single number wager has only a 1 in 38 chance of succeeding, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much lower casino advantage.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and anyway you play it, the house advantage can be a huge twenty-five percent. No, that is not a error. Because of the huge amount of numbers you have to select, it isn’t advisable to bet on Keno to often. A number of times for enjoyment, perhaps. But do not spend all your cash on it or you’ll quickly find yourself bankrupt.
